Recently talked to a recruiter and I’m curious what I should expect the interview process to be like. The recruiter mentioned there is no algo live coding stage in the interview process so I’m curious what to expect and how Jane Street interview differs from your standard SWE interview style.
I interviewed there, but I landed the impression interview styles might vary by team.
They gave me a take home exercise which I actually enjoyed. Then in person they had me earn a couple modifications to my solution. Then a couple more available-ended style rounds, e.g. tell me how TCP/IP works. Not that they expect perfect expertise of the subject, but enough to make some educated guesses and explain your reasoning.
I got an offer but Apple extended like $180k more. I would have rather worked at Jane Street otherwise.
OP - how did your interview go?
Would you mind sharing their process? Not looking for specifics but anything that might assist prep - coding round topics, do we expect behavioral questions , etc.
