AI is not replacing DE and here's why i'm not worried

counterintuitive take: i'm not worried. yes AI writes decent SQL. yes it can scaffold a dag. what it can't do is understand why the finance team's revenue number disagrees with the product team's revenue number when both are technically correct given their definitions. that's still 80% of my job and it requires understanding the business not just the code

yeah that's happening. i'm not pretending it isn't. i'm saying panic won't help and the senior work isn't going away

The 'why does finance revenue disagree with product revenue' problem is not going anywhere. that requires knowing the business
