Accenture recruiting: almost on par with aws (bad)
Full disclosure, I had a different offer and offer letter.
Below describes how Accenture handles recruiting…
On 4/11/2026 I was reached out to by let’s say Peggy Hill (via email) about an Azure Data Engineer job. A few days after the initial contact, we had a phone conversation.
After the phone conversation I applied for the position azure data engineer.
As part of the very initial conversation it was understood I live in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area, but am open to traveling as needed.
After that and through the conclude of July I completed three interviews. Last week Peggy verbally made an offer.
This morning I landed a call from Peggy asking if I would be alright with driving to Seattle 4 days a week at my own expense. I had thought that it was known i live in portland and am available to travel, and To which I replied that made no sense.
This afternoon I got a different phone call from Peggy rescinding the offer with the claim that there is no talent community in Portland.
First I take issue with stringing me along for months through the interview process if there truly is no Portland talent community for Accenture.
Second, I have a former colleague that works for Accenture in the Portland area so I realize I was lied to.
Third a fast search of Google reveals there are 22 people in the Portland metro area working for Accenture.
Fourth another quick search of Google reveals 35 available positions with Accenture in Portland, Oregon.
Lastly, I was told if I am to shift to an area with an Accenture talent community pool I could restart or maybe go thorough the process with just one round.
So I am struggling to see what the real reason is that the offer was rescinded. Furthermore I am quite upset with how I was lead on, and ultimately lied to.
Because of the verbal offer received, I put my notice in to my current job. Deepti had setup a conversation with someone named Princess Carolyn whom wanted to add insult to injury by giving me “professional guidance” not to put notice in until an offer letter is received.
