Hey folks 👋

I have an upcoming SQL screen for a Data Engineer job at Stripe. The recruiter mentioned it’s an available-book style interview, and I’m explicitly allowed to use AI tools (they want to see how effectively I can use them, not just raw memorization).

I’m looking for guidance from anyone who’s gone through this or something similar:

  • What can I expect in this SQL stage?
  • What kind of SQL problems are typically asked (difficulty / themes)?
  • Is it more regarding query correctness, optimization, edge cases, or explaining tradeoffs?
  • Any tips on how to prepare specifically for an AI-allowed interview?
    Would actually appreciate any pointers, sample question types, or gotchas to watch out for. Thanks in advance!
