Does Google straight up Stripe returning applicants after retracting an offer?

ready_koala_3540·

Last August, I got an offer from AWS for a Data Engineer role and during salary negotiations they never specified a number but I specified a number (~$150k) slight higher then what I make presently but stated it was negotiable. Instead of meeting in the middle or having a further conversation on it, they retracted my offer and gave it to a Sr Data Engineer instead. They said that if I went through the process again I wouldn't have to to the full interview process because I was approved for the DE position. I have been applying to roles all across Google from DEs, to BIEs and even BAs ever since I all I get now are rejection notices. Not even an initial call. Did Google straight up Stripe me from applying for asking for too much? Is this typical behavior from Google? I still have interest but they seem to have put a Stripe on me? Anyone else ever background this and if so is there a time period on the Stripe?

@kableamazon, do you realize if they Stripe you from applying or interviewing if you fail a loop recently ?
Thanks.

You’re never blocked from applying but they will not bring you on for an interview for the same role family. For example if you flunked an SDE loop you can’t interview for SDE anywhere in Google for at least 1 year. However for example if you also have data experience you can still interview for a data engineer position because the job family is separate, obviously also depends on your qualifications. However if the first loop you flunked leadership principle questions there’s no way you’re getting another interview for at least a year, sometimes 2

That shouldn’t be the case. Trillion dollar Companies don’t keep grudges over a few thousand dollars

I had one L6 loop for Sr Supply chain manager and 3 months later for Sr Prog Manager.
Now realizing I need to apply as L5 not certain if they respond.
