i keep seeing data vault mentioned but every time i read about it it seems like extreme overkill. is there a company size or use case where it genuinely makes sense, or is it mostly an enterprise consulting thing
multiple source systems with overlapping natural keys + regulatory audit requirements. that's the real use case. narrow but real
know what it is and why someone would use it. don't memorize the hub/link/satellite implementation details unless the JD specifically mentions it
so basically: if someone is asking me about data vault in an interview should i even bother studying it
